Lahore/Islamabad: Raymond Davis, generally known in Pakistan as CIA agent, the United States’ diplomat and Black Water or Zee Worldwide Station Chief, who was arrested in Pakistan after the cold blooded murder of two local citizens in Lahore, the second largest city of the country, has been released recently. However this release has left several question marks behind.
on one hand protest demonstrations have been broken out across Pakistan, while on the other hand such strange matters have been surfaced, which raised various questions over the entire issue.
According to the representatives of The News Tribe in Lahore and Islamabad it is being discussed in various prominent civil circles that the US spy has been freed soon after the release of prolonged suspended amount of coalition support fund to the Pakistan army along with the assurance that no objection would be raised on the invoices sent by the Pakistani armed forces.
The public relations department of armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Athar Abbas was not available for comments over the issue despite of several attempts by The News Tribe.
It is being stated in a SMS, circulating among civil society that the army generals were assured for frequent provision of funds against permission of working and free movement to all the personalities like Raymond Davis in Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the a handsome amount of coalition support fund, which was allegedly released only one day before the repartition of Raymond Davis, was earlier suspended because of audit concerns of the US.
The release of the Raymond Davis has been challenged today through tabling a petition in the Lahore High Court. Petitioner, a local lawyer in his petition stated that the Davis’s release was quite contrary against sharia law.
He also quoted the last statement of Faheem’s widow in which she said that culprits of Faheem’s murder would not be pardoned. The lawyer appealed the court to summon all stakeholders of the case so as to clarify the situation.
Local Court Additional Session Judge Yousaf Ojla, who had granted release to the US citizen, went on a short leave. He submitted his application for leave on Wednesday soon after granting release to Raymond Davis. All these facts are fogging the situation.
Meanwhile another thought provoking situation surfaced when Raja Irshad Keyani, a lawyer who was earlier hired in a case by an intelligence agency at the Supreme Court was appeared on seen in the LHC.
He stated that decision was according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sharria but remained failed to reply when he was asked that from which side he is following the case.
