Karachi: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has warned of strict action against criminal elements in Karachi and said that home work has been completed in this regard. Talking to media after a meeting on Karachi law and order the minister said that action based on intelligence information would be taken in the city.
Malik who arrived in Karachi earlier this morning, held a meeting with Rangers and police authorities. Malik told journalists that people would not be left disappointed over the prevailing situation. He added that the people would see how the government takes action against those beasts, playing with the peace.
Malik said indiscriminate action would be taken against the elements involved in the target killing, irrespective of their affiliation.
The interior minister said that miscreants had tested government patience. He pledged that situation would be seen improving in the city from tomorrow.
Malik also ordered for enhancing areal surveillance in the city and directed the authorities to arrange more planes for reconnaissance purpose.
