Islamabad: Torrential rain which started on Monday has claimed lives of seven people and injured dozens while several low lying areas of Sindh have been submerged.
According to media Reports, after continuous heavy showers the water level in nullahs, canals and water reservoirs has reached to its dead level. The new spell of rain was started on Monday across the country including Rawalpindi, Islamabad and in northern areas.
At least seven persons have been died and several others sustained injuries due to heavy rain in Sindh and throughout the country. While the low lying areas of Sindh province have been submerged, resultantly, the roofs of the several houses collapsed.
Reports further informed that due to heavy rain in low lying areas rainwater entered into the houses, therefore, the people have been facing difficulties and started to migrate in safe areas.
According to Met Department, the rain spell of monsoon is expected to continue during next 24 hours in the country. Earlier during the last 24 hours the maximum rain was recorded in Mithi 346 mili meter, while in Badin 148mm, Thatta 40mm and in Karachi 20mm.
