The court issued its verdict into the extra-judicial killing of Sarfaraz Shah here on Friday.
The court awarded death sentence to Shahid Zafar who shot dead Shah while renaming five have been awarded life term. Besides they have been fined Rs. 200,000 each.
Sarfaraz Shah, a resident of Hijrat Colony, was killed by Rangers officials in Benazir Bhutto Park located in Clifton on June 8.
Chief Justice Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had taken suo motu notice of the killing and directed the government to remove DG Rangers Javed Zia and IG Police Fyyaz Leghari form their posts. The SC had also ordered that the trial court would decide the case within a month.
