The interior secretary submitted a report regarding the transfer of Hussain Asghar to a three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The secretary said, in his report, that Hussain Asghar could not be reappointed as the probing officer due to the deteriorating law and order situation in Gilgit Baltistan.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice said that Asghar showed a positive progress in the probe and ordered the Interior Ministry to cancel his transfer and bring back to the Federal Investigation Agency, otherwise, action would be taken against the authorities concerned.
The CJ observed that State should develop a mechanism for the transfer of the government officers.
The hearing was adjourned for two weeks.
