Karachi: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said the target killers would be brought to the public whoever they may be. He has ordered police officials not to veil the faces of target killers so their ringleaders can watch their arrested accomplices.
Talking to media in Karachi on Tuesday, Malik warned the target killers to release the kidnapped people. He said that Karachi is the largest city where crimes are routine matter and it is a natural phenomenon.
He said that he is not a superman or spiderman but his performance of last 14 hours is before the public in which 18 more people have been arrested, including 10 target killers.
Over the statement of MQM chief on the resignation of Yousuf Raza Gilani from premiership, the federal minister said Altaf Hussain states everything when he is in mood.
It is important to mention here that Malik a few days ago promised to bring more then 100 arrested target killers before the public, but so far only four have been presented.
He said that he would stay in the city until the situation improves. He claimed that he is close to catching the killers.
He denied any altercation with Zulfiqar Mirza.
He further said that media react with exaggeration without any confirmation and that reporters must dial the helpline to know the exact number of killings.
When the correspondent of The News Tribe dialed the helpline number and asked about today’s death toll, the recipient confirmed that the death toll showed by media is correct.
