Karachi: A police officer was killed and a constable was injured in an encounter in Karachi on late Tuesday, police said.
The encounter took place in phase one area of Gulshan-e-Hadeed when ASI Shabir Solangi and a constable signaled to stop a motorcycle but they opened indiscriminate fire on them and fled by taking the advantage of darkness, said police officials.
Both were deployed at ATM duty. The injured were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area and started search operation to trace the culprits.
