Lahore: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House in Lahore, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
The prime minister informed president regarding his letter to the Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for the proposal of the names of interim prime minister.
The president and prime minister also discussed the current political situation of the country and Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project.
The two leaders also hold consultations over the current situation in Balochistan, an insurgency-hit province of the country and the prospects of lifting governor rule in order to provide chance to leader of the house and opposition leader in the provincial assembly to consult each other for the appointment of interim chief minister.
After the meeting, the president also chaired the core committee meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and discussed the possible names of interim prime minister to be proposed from the opposition and the strategy of the party for the next elections.
