Karachi: For Karachiites, Saturday started with a new wave of violence as deaths reached 12 even before it is noon.
The latest incident happened at the city’s area of Sakhi Hassan where three people, including a woman, were killed in a home. Police said Barkat and Imran—the two men killed— were bandits and were shot dead by the residents. However, the dacoits killed the woman in an exchange of fire.
In Shah Faisal Colony, unknown gunmen killed a seminary named Nadeem. Police termed the incident as targeted killing.
Rescue sources said armed assailants killed three at Sabri Chowk in Orangi Town.
In a city’s southern area of Musharaf Colony, unidentified gunmen opened fire at a bus stop, killing a man on the spot.
A body was found near Maripur graveyard which was shifted to a nearby hospital for identification.
Earlier, two people were shot dead in Moach Goth in separate firing incidents.
A person was killed in C-1 area of Liaquatabad and a driver was injured in another incident in Kemari No. 1.
A body was found dumped in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The victim was kidnapped and tortured, police said.
An injured man was found at Railway Society in the remits of Aziz Bhatti police station. He had been subjected to torture and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
