Islamabad: A petition against the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) intra-party election has be rejected by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Sources said that the petition filed by Safdar Abbasi against the PPPP had been rejected.
The ECP rejecting Safdar Abbasi’s petition has said that the commission has no right to scrutinize intra-party polls. The ECP has directed Abbasi to challenge the polls in the high court.
Safdar Abbasi had termed the polls as a mala fide exercise on papers only and short of statutory requirement of the Political Parties Order 2002.
