Karachi: Senior Minster for Education & Literacy Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq has said that Sindh Government has no objection to establish a University in Hyderabad city.
However, the Government is willing to construct it at a suitable location in the city, where students of adjoining areas of Hyderabad would also get easy access to it, this he said while discussing over the statement of Ex-Minister health and MQM’s leader Dr. Sagheer Ahmed in which he demanded to establish University at Gulsitan-e-Sarmad , Latifabad area of Hyderabad.
Provincial Minister clarify that Hyderabad University can be constructed at Tando Mohammad khan road, near Rajputana Hospital or any other suitable place, where students from neighboring areas will have easy access of education.
He said that it will also counter to this perception that this university is being built for the benefit of a particular area. He further said that PPP Government has been considering various available options regarding the establishment of University in Hyderabad, and this educational project will take its final shape after the approval of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Cabinet.
Mazhar further said that this is incorrect perception that Hyderabad has no education opportunities. He clarified that old campus of Sindh University is located in the centre of city, while Isra Univerasity is also providing quality education to the people of Hydearabad. He added that presently Sindh Assembly has passed a bill of Modren University of private department at Autobhan road Latifabad, which is the tremendous and praiseworthy step of PPP Government towards the people of Hyderabad.
Pir Mazhar-Ul- Haq concluded that to trample over the establishment of Hyderabad University at Gulistan-e-Sarmad, Latifabad is not appropriate, while considering the sentiments of the people of Hyderabad, Sindh Government will continue to provide the ample opportunities of higher education to the people of Hyderabad in future.
