Quetta: Police in Quetta on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a group of children allegedly being used in bombings in the city and on its outskirts.
Mir Zubair Mehmood, the CCPO Quetta, while addressing a press conference, said that they had arrested the group and 11 other member of a banned outfit during a targeted operation in the city.
“The ages of the children, who were used in several incidents of bombings, are between 10 to 16 years.” The CCPO said and added that the children were belonging to poor families.
“During investigation the children have revealed that the terrorists were using them to place explosives in crowded areas.”
Mehmood said that the children had claimed to be involved in over a dozen incidents, adding that the terrorists were paying Rs2000 to 5000 to children for each task.
“Efforts are being made to recover MPA Sultan Tareen.”
