Karachi: Opposition members in Sindh Assembly on Wednesday staged walkout from session against Bahria Town’s island city project near Karachi.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Leader Sassui Palejo also joined the protest of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), National People’s Party (NPP).
Arif Mustafa Jatoi moved an adjournment motion against the project in the assembly saying it illegal.
The opposition leaders have alleged President Asif Ali Zardari of selling Dangi and Bandar Islands to Bahria town against Lahore’s Bilawal House.
The situation in the house turned dramatic when few member of the ruling PPP also oppose the projects. Palejo said that the islands were the property of Sindh people and no one would be allowed to sell these islands.
Syed Sardar Ahmed, the leader of the opposition, said that Bandara Island was the property of Sindh government and it could be sold to anyone.
Subsequently, the opposition including Sassui Palejo staged walkout when the speaker dismissed Jatoi’s motion against the assembly’s conduct.
