Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday withdrew the name of Justice (retd) Shakirullah Jan from the three nominees for the interim prime minister before the forthcoming general elections.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, has told reporters that he is withdrawing the name of Justice (retd) Shakirulla Jan, the former judge of the Supreme Court, from the three nominees.
Nisar also raised objection over names given by the government for the caretaker prime minister. He said that Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was a finance minister 15 days ago while Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan was very close person to slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
“Dr Ishrat Hussain is also not suitable for the caretaker premier,” he said.
He said if a mutual decision will not be taken for the nomination of caretaker PM, the Punjab Assembly will stay intact and will not be dissolved.
