Dubai: Former Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf is likely to call-off his return to Pakistan, scheduled for March 24, on the request of Saudi officials.
According to sources, a Saudi diplomat in Abu Dhabi first met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif and asked him to avoid using harsh language against the former dictator.
The diplomat also met Musharraf and asked him to postpone his visit to Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pervez Musharraf along with his close aides is visiting Saudi Arabia and has met the members of the royal family there.
The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Chief will address an important news briefing today at 9 pm, according to Dubai time, and will reveal his decision to whether he would return Pakistan or not.
It is to be mentioned here that Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani also visited Saudi Arabia some days back and performed Umrah. ISI chief Major General Zaheerul Islam was also present during the visit.
Meanwhile, APML’s spokesman Aasia denied the reports and said that Musharraf would arrive Pakistan on March 24 as per announced schedule.
She further elaborated that the APML head would arrive Pakistan via Emirates flight PK-606.
