ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will issue a changed schedule for the country’s general election 2013, a report quoting the commission sources said.
The schedule has been sent to Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim for approval after which it would be issued later today (Friday), a private news television reports.
Earlier, the Election Commission issued fresh statistics of the total registered voters in the country.
The commission said that over 86.1 million voters had been registered in the country including 48.5 million men and 37.5 million women.
According to the ECP, over 49.3 million voters had been registered in Punjab, 18.7 million in Sindh, 12.3 million in Khyber Pakhtonkhwa, 3.349 million in Balochistan and 1.751 million in FTA. “Around 6.21 million people have registered their vote in Islamabad.”
