Mumbai: In another incident of frequent gang-rape cases in India, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the wee hours this morning at her home in HindonVihar area here.
The victim had woken up to go to the washroom when the three accused, who live with her and her family in a shared accommodation, gang-raped her, police said.
The girl was admitted to hospital in critical condition, they said.
One of the accused, Sher Mohammed, was arrested, while the other two Shadab and Sahib, who are Sher’s nephews, are on the run, they said.
Family members of the girl have alleged that the accused also tried to kill the victim by strangulating her, police said.
A case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) and 376 (punishment for rape) was registered against the three accused, SP (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav said.
