RAWALPINDI: Known for his sarcastic style of speaking, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi could be seen sad these days following a decision from his rival Imran Khan.
Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) injured chairman has decided to keep his national assembly seat fron Rawalpindi, where he has defeated Abbasi. Khan, who had won three seats in the polls, has vacated his seats from Mianwali and Peshawar.
PML-N leader was hopeful that if crickter turned politician decided to leave seat from Rawalpindi, he would win the bye-polls comprehensively.
“Hanif Abbasi assumed that no other PTI leader candidate would be in a position to defeat him,” The News Tribe has learnt.
This may be the reason for Khan’s decision to keep his Rawalpindi seat. The other national assembly seat from Rawalpindi was also won by Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, who had the support of PTI in polls.
From the adjacent city of Islamabad, the capital of south Asian state, PTI has also proved its position as Javed Hashmi had won the seat.
