KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has warned Ministry of Water and Power for the significant increase in load shedding in Karachi after 350 Mega Watts supply blockage from National Grid.
KESC warned the ministry after the expected supply blockage of 350 Mega Watts from National Grid which will double the load shedding in Karachi.
According to ministry sources, KESC officials met care taker Minister of Water and Power DR. Musaddiq Malik in Islamabad.
The sources added that KESC officials were informed by the decision of common interest council, according to which 350 mega watts supply will be deducted from current 650 mega watts electric supply from National Grid.
The KESC officials answered the ministry that load shedding in the city will be doubled in case of the huge supply blockage.
Earlier, the menace of unscheduled load shedding had already gripped the Karachiites in scathing summer which further decreased after the Governor Sindh’s strict notice but the new KESC’s indications increased concerns and anger of the people.
