NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader LK Advani has resigned on Monday from all posts in the party on serious reservations on the appointment of Narendra Modi as chief of BJP’s electoral campaign.
According to Indian media, the decision has been taken a day after Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi was appointed as the BJP’s campaign committee chief for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
BJP president Rajnath Singh has failed to appease his prominent leader as he called Mr Advanion his New Delhi’s residence this afternoon.
Earlier, Advani has sent a letter to BJP President Rajnath Singh to express his reservations, he wrote, “For some time I have been finding it difficult to reconcile either with the current functioning of the party, or the direction in which it is going. I no longer have the feeling that this is the same idealistic party created by Dr Mookerji, Deen Dayalji, Nanaji and Vajpayeeji whose sole concern wans the country, and its people. Most leaders of ours are now concerned just with their personal agendas.
