Birmingham: Defending Champions Australia on Wednesday will face New Zealand in a crucial match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy at Edgbaston.
Australia already lost its first match against the host England while its opponent emerged victorious against Sri Lanka.
Australia have to win the match to stay in the line of semi-finals. In case of Australia’s defeat New Zealand will cement its place in Semi finals while the defending champion reduce its chances of going further.
According to One Day International (ODI) statistics, Australia dominate the Kiwis with 85 victories in 124 meetings. While Kiwis manage to beat Aussies in 34 matches with five without result.
As far as ICC Champions trophy is concerned Aussies’ past record is good against Kiwis, both teams had met each other 4 times. Australia had dominated the kiwis with 4-0.
