PESHAWAR: Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has initiated work on local government establishment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and trying to release the election schedule within 90 days.
According to sources, KPK government has initiated the making of sketches for local government election (or municipal election) and trying to release the election schedule within 90 days.
PTI chief Imran Khan has also directed his party leaders to commence ‘qualitative’ work on emergency basis for the improvement of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The sources revealed the election’s genre that the event will be held on party basis and PTI will increase political pressure on Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) to uphold the municipal election in Punjab province as well.
Earlier in electoral campaigns’ addresses, Imran Khan insisted to bring a powerful local governmental setup in his tenure and also termed it as ‘grass root level governance’.
To accomplish the task, PTI has selected righteous political party of KPK, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in order to initiate a powerful municipal setup in the province and recently awarded them the Ministry of Local Government.
