5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Chitral, other parts of Pakistan

PESHAWAR: A quake measuring magnitude 5.1  on Richter Scale jolted Chitral and other parts ofPakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday.

The US Geological Survey said that the magnitude of the quake was recorded 5.1 on the Richter scale, adding the epicenter of the quake was in 269 kilometre in depth at Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

The quake created panic among the residence of the northern areas, however, no incident of damage of casualty reported.
