Cardiff: England defeated New Zealand by 10 runs in do-or die match of International Cricket Councial (ICC) Champions Trophy played at Cardiff Wales Stadium.
New Zealand top colaped by England’s pacers to guide home side through to Semi- final.
Kane Williamson and Corey Anderson showed some resistance on the crease. Williamsom made 67 runs of 54 while Corey Anderson’s 30 runs at the end not enough to get New Zealand through. Black caps manages to score 159 runs lossing 8 wickets in 24 overs.
James Anders on took 3 wickets while Ravi Bopara’s 2 wickets manage to guide Englnd for Sami-finals.
Earlier New Zealand won the toss and decided to field first. The interruption of rain match was reduced to 24 overs. England skipper Alastair Cook lead the team from front making 64 runs of facing 64 balls. Joe Root played a vital role in the middle order making 38 runs. While England keep on lossing wickets at the end of the innings. England made 169 runs on loss of 10 wickets.
Kyle Mills took 4 while Mitchell McClenaghan manages to take 3 wickets for New Zealand.
With this victory England join South Africa and India in Semi-finals. While the last team will be decided between New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia.
