He was speaking for the first time in the national assembly after taking oath from the speaker Ayaz Sadiq, who defeated him in the elections.
He is the last member who took oath due to his injuries caused by a rally during his election campaign.
Khan was of the view that terrorism was a issue that needs national consensus. As expected he fiercely opposed drone attacks in tribal belt of the country.
“The government to evolve consensus to address the root causes of terrorism. Drone strikes are claiming lives of innocent people. The government and the opposition should collectively frame a policy to bring an end to the drone strikes.”
PTI chairman criticized on support of the government to war on terror saying it has not only been claiming lives but also denting the national economy.
“God Almighty has blessed Pakistan with different resources including gold‚ copper and coal and responsibility rests with all of us to put the country on the right track,” Radio Pakistan quoted him saying.
