LAHORE: Former care taker chief minister of Punjab province Najam Sethi has been appointed as acting chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday.
Following the IHC orders, the committee was considering some famous names including former caption Majid Khan, former chief executive PCB Chishti Mujahid and former chairmen FBR Mumtaz Rizvi but finally decided Najam Sethi for the post who is out of the consideration list.
It is pertinent to note, Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed inter-provincial coordination committee for a quick appointment of acting chairman for the board as the annual general meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is scheduled in London later this month.
Earlier, Zaka Ashraf was restrained for continuing working on his post by IHC on May 28 as well as restricted to attend annual general meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was hearing the case regarding the former PCB chairman after a petition filed by Major (retired) Ahmad Nadeem Sadal challenging the PCB chairman election held on May 8.
