Butt has accepted that he was a part of spot fixing during a match in England about a couple of years ago.
“I apologize to the nation for damaging the the grace of cricket,” he said while talking in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab.
“We accept the verdict of International Council for Cricket.”
The former opener and captain of the Green Shirts appealed that he should be granted permission to play domestic cricket.
Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Amir and Butt got punishment on November 3 by the crown court after proving guilty in the spot-fixing case.
