ISLAMABAD: Several attempts from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) for schedule modification, Election Commission has decided to hold Presidential Election on its announced time.
ECP Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed declared that presidential election will be held on August 6.
Earlier, Pakistan federal government has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on July 19 for modification in schedule in Presidential Election 2013 and Ministry of Law & Justice has sent letter to ECP.
The law ministry described the reason for election schedule alteration in the letter that that mostly members of assemblies will be busy in Ramadan retreat and some members will not present due to Umrah prayers including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
However, ECP has rejected the request for any delay in the presidential election.
