LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) prominent leader and Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar has met Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hassan on Wednesday in order to seek support in Presidential Election.
PML-N’s Chaudhry Nisar met JI chief in Mansoora Lahore in order to gain support of Munawar Hassan-led political party for presidential candidate Mamnoon Hussain.
Chaudhry Nisar along with PML-N delegation has discussed the future’s agenda and other issues with Munwar Hassan while Jamaat-e-Islami’s some senior leaders were also present in the meeting.
Chaudhry Nisar and Munawar Hasan addressed the press conference after the completion of the meeting.
While talking with media, Chaudhry Nisar said that we exchanged words on the PML-N president’s agenda and other issues including terrorism, worsen law and order situation in Karachi.
Nisar said that JI was contacted second time for its support with PML-N and PML-N invited Hassan-led party to join All Parties Conference (APC) for countering terrorism.
Munawar Hasan told the media that process of contacting the political parties is continued after the announcement of presidential election schedule and PML-N contacted us in this regards and to discuss other issues including terrorism and Karachi violence.
JI chief said that we are agreed to support the federal government on removing terrorism from the countries as well as the economical development of the country.
Hassan said that JI will formally announce its support for any presidential candidate with consulting party members after reviewing presidential agenda of other candidates.
Hassan accepted that PML-N contacted us second time as the first delegation met under supervision of Khawaja Saad Rafique.
