RAWALPINDI: Election tribunal bench of Lahore High Court in Rawalpindi has declared the ineligibility of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) blue eyed lady Ayla Malik for contesting by-poll due to fake intermediate degree.
PTI prominent leader Ayla Malik had submitted nomination paper on NA-71 constituency from Mianwali, the seat vacated by the party chairman Imran Khan after keeping his Rawalpindi seat.
On July 20, Rawalpindi’s Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), had formally declared that her intermediate certificate is false as the provided roll number is related with a male candidate who already failed in the exam.
BISE confirmed in a letter that Ayla Malik d/o Malik Allah Yaar Khan submitted the certificate with roll number of 530561 in year 1989 while the roll number relate to Imdad Hussain who failed in the exams.
Ayla Malik belongs to a political family and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Sumera Malik is her elder sister.
The formal investigation commenced after the petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s candidate Ubaid Ullah Shadi Khel and the allegation becomes true.
It is pertinent to note, Ayla Malik attached graduation degree from Russia, intermediate and matriculation certificates with her nomination paper while same certificate were used on the time when she were performing duties as member of national assembly during 2002-07.
