PESHAWAR: Six Pakistani prisoners have been shifted to Peshawar’s central jail after returning from the Bagram prison of Afghanistan on Tuesday (today).
Pakistani authorities kept the prisoners in the Peshawar central jail under section 40 FCR while the Director Justice Project of Pakistan Barrister Sarah Bilal said that efforts are being made for releasing of other Pakistani prisoners in Afghanistan, local media reported.
Lawyers of the Justice Project of Pakistan along with the prisoners’ relatives met the detained persons on their arrival in the country.
Hameedullah, belonging to Pakistan’s tribal area Waziristan, who was reportedly detained in Afghanistan at the age of 14 years also included amongst the prisoners.
It should be mentioned that Afghanistan authorities issued release orders for six Pakistani prisoners on November 16 while at least 40 prisoners also present in the Bagram prison.
