LAHORE: Taking significant and rapid action against corruption, Punjab government on Wednesday has removed its own appointed prominent market officers over involvement in corruption and inflation.
Punjab government’s own deployed officers in the public markets has been removed by the higher authorities as they failed in controlling the prices hike as well as to prevent locals from inflation, local media reported.
A high-level official from the Ministry of Agriculture told the media that the ousted officers, who were appointed on the political recommendations, has been removed over showing poor performance in their duties.
However, the names of the officers were undisclosed till yet.
It should be mentioned that the governmental prices’ control departments across the country always failed to maintain the imposed commodities’ prices for the locals.
Resultantly in Punjab, locals were suffering significantly hike in domestic commodities’ prices as the sellers rejected to sell out products on government’s announced rates after making collusion with corrupt officials.
