Seoul: Samsung finally moves towards metal instead of regular plastic for its upcoming flagship device Samsung Galaxy S5 reports claims.
Recently we have seen the leaked image of Galaxy S5’s metal frame and now new report claims that company’s upcoming device will feature a metal chasseing.
It was rumored that Taiwanese company Catcher was one of the prime candidates Samsung had selected to acquire metal casings for the S5, and now a report out of the Taiwan media says the possibility of the Galaxy S5 having a metallic body has shot up considerably.
According to the report, Catcher will start supplying a certain amount of the required metal housings (10 to 30 million units, according to the initial rumor) this month, while Chinese company BYD and Taiwan’s Ju Teng will be contracted for supplying the remaining units.
As always, considering Samsung’s love for plastic (it keeps the device light and helps them bring out devices to market faster), it wouldn’t be a good idea to get your hopes too high, but going by the numerous reports, a metallic Galaxy S5 is looking to be more and more likely.
