ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed the Crises Management Cell (CMC) for commencing thorough investigation into the threatening letters sent to the leaders of upper house.
CMC received directions of the interior minister for initiate investigation into the threatening letters to Senators Zahid Khan, Raza Rabbani and Fiancé Minister Ishaq Dar over demanding treason trial against former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf.
It should be mentioned that all three leaders belonged to separate political parties as Zahid Khan affiliated with the Awami National Party (ANP), Raza Rabbani of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar from the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Chaudhry Nisar directed the Crises Management Cell to conduct an investigation into the matter while the senators who received the threatening letters were asked to hand over the said letters to the Management Cell, saying the investigation would be conducted on higher level.
He said that a joint investigation team would be constituted for the purpose. According to a private TV channel, the officials of FIA, ISI and other agencies would be included in the investigation team. He said that the team would conduct complete investigations regarding the threatening letters.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Senator Raza Rabbani, Zahid Khan, Ishaq Dar were threatened with serious consequences for demanding a treason trial against Pervez Musharraf. The senators were threatened to be murdered, kidnapped and abused through the letter. The issue was raised in the Senate on Thursday. The Senators received similar threats through letters.
