DUBAI: Pakistan will try to seize top position from Sri Lanka in the Twenty20 format, captain Muhammad Hafeez said.
Both the teams will be playing to get the first spot in T20 cricket as they would play for an action-packed series starting from today.
Pakistan will test a new opener Sharjeel Khan who would play with experienced batsman Ahmad Shahzad in first T20 match, after the bad performance of Nasir Jamshed, who was dropped by the selectors.
Zulfiqar Babar has been dropped too to give world class bowler Saeed Ajmal a chance to play the first T20 against Sri Lanka.
“Ajmal could create a trouble for Sri Lankan Tigers,” Hafeez said.
Young left arm fast bowler Usman Shinwari has also been included in T20 squad, expected to play first or second T20 match.
