The national cricket selection committee and the team management have shown satisfaction on overall performance of Umar Akmal.
“He has been performing both as the batsman and the wicket keeper for the Green Shirts,” they viewed.
Actually they think to groom him on the footprint of South African skipper de Villiers who is performing on the same pattern.
“The young player has been given the dual task to groom him like de Villiers,” the committee and management officials said.
Akmal has so far made 1003 runs in tests, 2327 runs in ODIs and 1093 runs in Twenty20 matches while has taken 12 catches in tests, 48 catches in ODIs and 34 catches in T20s.
