Karachi: Sindh Government has called upon the authorities concerned to make foolproof security arrangements in every sensitive area during the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain whereas the Army has also been called in the metropolis as reserve force.
Deployment of the Army in different areas of the Karachi would be started from today (Monday).
The troops will be deployed on top of the buildings situated in procession route.
Inspector General of Police, Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch has directed senior police officers to ensure foolproof security to mourning processions and all majalis on the eve of the Chehlum on Tuesday.
According to a press release issued on Sunday, he issued these directives to the divisional and district police officers while reviewing a report about the overall security arrangements.
He ordered the police officers to brief the police officials/ personnel before their deployment in the field and ensure their presence till the required time.
The IGP said that the report of every moment should be provided to the central command & control room and media cell at central police office.
The Karachi police divided the city plan into different security sectors and a senior police officer of the rank of superintendent of police (SP) would be made officer in charge of each sector.
