JOHANNESBURG: With initial chances of victory set aside as South African just managed to draw the first test match chasing the highest victory runs of 458 runs against India at Johannesburg.
If Proteas managed to chase the set target, it would have been the highest run chase in the Test history.
At the start of fifth-day, Proteas’ skillful batsman de Villiers and Du Plessis had put up a 205-run partnership making a new record in the test history.
During the match, de Villiers scored 18th test century of his career.
Unfortunately, Ishant Sharma had got wicket of de Villiers on 103 runs after some time Plessis lost his wicket in crucial time of the match.
Africans batsmen had scored 450 runs at the loss of seven wickets only to draw the match.
