At least two people were killed in Thursday morning’s crash of a small plane in Adams County’s Butler Township, a state police spokesman said.
Trooper Robert Hicks said autopsies are scheduled to be performed Friday on the human remains found at the crash site. Dental records and possibly DNA will be used to identify the victims, he said.
Hicks said the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash, which involved a twin-engine Piper Twin Comanche.
The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. and scattered debris over a quarter-mile area north of Gettysburg. No other details were available.
