SHARJAH: Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by two wickets in the final over here in Abu Dhabi on Friday night.
Chasing 233, Sri Lanka reached the target courtesy Chandimal’s 64 runs not out inning with with two balls to spare.
Earlier, Pakistan have managed to set reasonable target of 233 runs against their Asian opponent, Sri Lanka.
Mohammad Hafeez scored 41 runs of 56 balls with strong partnership with skipper Misbah-ul-Haq who added 51 runs of 74 balls.
Ahmed Shehzad managed to score only 17 runs on 16 balls due to its early shot which led him to a caught by Priyanjan on the tactical balling of Lakmal.
Anwar Ali once again showed outstanding performance today shattering the opponent’s dreams to counter Green Shirts under 200s target, however, he scored not out 41 runs on 38 balls comprising of 2 fours and 1 six.
