Seoul: As we are about to enter the new year LG is eyeing to Launch its flagship smartphone LG G3 with a 64 bit Octa core processor and finger scanner.
According to new reports, South Korean technological giant is planning a G3 follow-up to its recently released LG G2, which will reportedly use a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a 64-bit octa-core processor, and other high-end features.
The company has been on a mission to cement itself as one of the top three major players in the smartphone market and it’s already well on its way to building its next-generation flagship smartphone. As a device manufacturer, LG knows that even the latest top of the line specs have a pretty fast expiration date in the competitive consumer electronics industry.
The company launched its current flagship smartphone, the LG G2, in September. The handset has the latest and greatest hardware specs and is available on all four major wireless carriers in the U.S., but the company is already working on its successor.
According to a new report, LG is working on its flagship smartphone for 2014. Just as the G2 shipped with very impressive features such as a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 HD display, quad-core processor, and 13-megapixel camera, the G3 will be packing excellent specs in its bid to take on Samsung and Apple’s premium smartphones.
The report claims that LG will be using a 2K or quad-HD display with a very high resolution of 1,440 x 2,560. The size of the display was not disclosed, but it’s very likely to be the 5.5-inch QHD display LG showed off in August. Meanwhile, 64-bit processors are the future in terms of processing power.
Apple has beaten its rivals to the punch, having already shipped its flagship iPhone 5s, iPad mini with Retina display, and iPad Air all equipped with an A7 64-bit processor. The G3 will apparently pack its own 64-bit octa-core processor that has been developed in-house by LG. Another report claims LG is also following Apple by including a built-in finger print scanner on the rear of the device, similar to the HTC One max.
The G3 will not disappoint in the camera department either, as it will reportedly ship with a high-end 16-megapixel camera with advanced imaging capabilities. The report goes on to say that LG plans on releasing the G3 in the second half of 2014.
As with all unannounced devices, however, take this report with a grain of salt for now.
