Karachi: The Sindh High Court on Monday has declared Sindh Local Government Act 2013 null and void and said that it was illegal.
Division bench comprised on Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Farooq Ali Shah given this crucial verdict.
According to sources, Pakistan Peoples Party has to challenge this verdict in the Supreme Court otherwise local bodies in Sindh would be held according to 2013 bill.
Around 10 parties challenged this bill by opposition parties in Sindh including Muttahid Qaumi Movement (MQM) , Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
All the opposition parties termed this bill illegal and has the view that it contradicts Article 104-A of the Constitution.
