Karachi: At least three people have been killed on Saturday as Schools, universities, colleges and markets remained closed and public transport off the roads due to day of mourning announced by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday.
On Friday. MQM leader Haider Abbaz Rizvi alleged that law enforcement agencies were behind of extra-judicial killing of his party workers which could not be tolerated further more.
He said that around 40 MQM workers have disappeared after the commencement of targeted operation in Karachi.
Senior MQM leader, Nasreen Jalil at the moment demanded to lodge an FIR for the killing against Karachi Police chief Shahid Hayat.
Commuters face severe problems and difficulties to reach their destination due to lack of public transport on roads.
The Private School Management Association on Friday had issued its notification for schools to remain shut down.
All the examination papers scheduled for today by University of Karachi, Federal Urdu University, Karachi Education Board and Sindh Board of Technical Education have been postponed.
The CNG stations also could not open today after a closure of 24hours.
