LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Shireen Mazari said that Najam Sethi is being reinstated as PCB chairman as a reward for his “35 punctures” scheme.
“35 punctures” is a term used for alleged rigging in 35 constituencies facilitated by Mr. Najam Sethi during 11 May elections 2013 for which PTI has a proof.
Mr. Sethi was Interim chief minister Punjab at that time.
Dr. Mazari further said that the newly reinstated PCB chairman has no experience of running or managing cricketing affairs and he has been given the prestiogious post after he allegedly promised the ruling party chief Nawaz Sharif of rigging in 35 constituencies by using the word ‘puncture’.
Soon after Ms. Mazari’s statement, PTI chief Imran Khan also said the same and called the decision ‘autocratic’ while lamenting that Cricket board is becoming a cafe for rewarding favourites with lunch.
