London – a study has revealed that yogurt and low fat cheese can reduce the chance of type 2 diabetes in a person by 24%.
According to the research journal, people who consumed 125 grams of yogurt, at least four times a week, had lesser chances of diabetes than people who did not consume yogurt at all.
The data was taken from EPIC-Norfolk study, which included 25,000 men and women living in Norfolk. Participants kept daily records of food and drink they ate in a week when they became part of the study in the 1990s. Among all these people, only 753 people developed type 2 diabetes over the next 11 years.
So if you want to avoid diabetes, eat yogurt regularly.
