Sony Computer Entertainment says that the upcoming baseball game ‘MLB 14 The Show’ will be the most beautiful product they ever created.
With improvements to presentation, a wealth of added animations, a dramatic increase in environment and extensive player detail is included in the much anticipated version.
The game will feature dozens of new features and improvements to what is already the best, and only, baseball game on the market.
MLB 14: The Show will include community-created challenges, an online franchise mode with draft, free agency, trading and scouting support and some as-yet-unannounced improvements to the Road to the Show career mode.
The new Player Lock feature (a.k.a RTTS anywhere) gives users the ability to lock-on to any single player and enter games using the Road to the Show gameplay mechanic, allowing for faster games and more focused on-field action.
In all-new Quick Counts option, users will now be able to play a full 9 inning game in less than 30 minutes, essentially cutting traditional game times in half.
Additionally, Sony will implement a universal in-game currency for MLB 14: The Show called “Stubs.” Stubs will be earned from general gameplay (similar to experience points) and can also be purchased using real-life dollars. Sony stressed that it is “not designing the system to pressure players into spending money.
The game will be released on April 1, 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The PlayStation 4 version will be released in May 2014.
