ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court has given 24 hours deadline to Federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to recover 35 missing persons on Tuesday but they failed to do so, media reported.
A three-member bench, led by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, conducted the proceedings of 35 missing persons’ case of Malakand Interment Centre.
Attorney General (AG) Salman Butt requested the bench to hear Additional Secretary Defence briefing on the progress of this case.
But infuriated Justice Jawwad S Khawaja did not allow and said, “We don’t need to hear the defence ministry and added General sahib sit down.”
The court was really enraged as today was the 35th hearing of this case and there seem to be no progress at all.
Justice Jawwad said to AG, “If you have the courage then look straight into the eyes of the missing Yasin’s brother.’
And then the court took a break.
Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry claimed that Army has removed those 35 missing persons from Malakand Interment Centre two years ago, when he was conducting the proceedings last year on December 10.
