ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani National Assembly on Tuesday has passed a resolution for reduction in indirect taxation for providing economic relief to the nationals.
Tax advisory committee has been established to resolve the tax non-payment issues from affluent class nationals while direct taxation would provide relief and development chances to the poor segments, parliamentary secretary for finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan said.
The official briefed the lower house regarding prominent steps taken by the federal authorities for widening the tax net.
Rana Afzal Khan said the government has also reduced the burden of loans and returned six percent foreign loans this year.
Afzal Khan defended the Tax Amnesty Scheme, said that government has to take the practical steps to put the economy on the right track, Radio Pakistan reported.
