ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Saturday that government has decided to free thirteen non-combatant Taliban prisoners and expect the Taliban to do the same.
Nisar reveled that some of the freed inmates were from the list provided by Taliban.
He said that he cannot comment on Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s criticism of government regarding Taliban talks and privatisation as he considers the youg leader as a ‘child’.
He informed media that Taliban prisoners are released as a ‘good will’ gesture and almost 30 prisoners will be released till the next meeting with Taliban adding that all Pakistanis are in favour of dialogues with Taliban and the govt. will not take any decision against the interest of the state.
The interior minister of war torn country assured that violent activities from Taliban will meet their end and dialogues will bring peace to the country.
Nisar again took PPP to task by saying that PPP yesterday showed childish behavior under the very nose of co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
“Where were they for the last five years” , Nisar said , taking a jab at the party who ruled Pakistan before Nisar’s Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N).
