KARACHI: A planted bomb explosion occurred outside a shop situated at famous Zamzama Street of Karachi, the metropolis of Pakistan, on Tuesday.
The incident took place within premises of local police station where first-ever woman police officer has been appointed today.
Station House Officer Syeda Ghazala has reached on the incident’s site as she took charge from today in the police station.
No casualty has been reported in the incident while the powerful explosion resulted demolishing of public assets of nearby shops located in the post area of Karachi.
Local sources initially claimed that the explosion was carried out via grenade or cracker; however, police investigation said that it was a planted bomb attack.
The explosives were packed in a black coloured bag; which was placed outside a shop, police said.
The intensity of bomb explosive could be observed as the powerful noise of the explosion shattered window glasses of the several shops.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials claimed that large quantity of urea fertiliser was used in the attack.
Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies have cordoned off whole area.
